"I stayed at the Rockford with my hubby and my Dad and we had a great time. The Inn is charming and in such a beautiful location. Sarah and Catherine couldn't have been better hosts if they had tried and believe me they work hard enough as it is! The food was delicious. The rooms are lovely and cosy, we stayed in room 5 with ES and it was lovely and clean and welcoming. Dad stayed in room 2 which had a shared bathroom but it could have been his own private bathroom. We are definitely planning a trip back, hopefully in October, but if not early in the New Year when it will be dark outside but lovely and warm and cosy inside. Can't wait!!" Tripadvisor

"Stayed in May for a weekend and loved it, we didnt have an ensuite room because it was fully booked but the shared bathroom was fine and dont think i had to share it with anyone. The bed was extreamly comfortable and you could hear the river out side very soothing. we dined here for one night only and was happy with the food. The breakfast was amazing you must try the smoked haddock and poached egg! The pub was lovely great real ales and well stock bar, had a nice evening at the bar chatting with the locals and staff. There is a beatiful walk right out side along the river which is very rugged lots of water falls. The drive here is very interesting cows and sheep have the right of way! Make sure you visit Watersmeet, you can walk from the inn. Thanks for a lovely stay." Tripadvisor

"We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Rockford Inn and would highly recommend the place. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt very lucky that we had found this idyllic inn. Our room (room 4) albeit on the small side, had absolutely everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable and relaxed. Above all it was clean, tidy and well equipped.Sarah's cooking is second to none and all the meals we ate at the Inn were of the highest standard - the full English breakfast set us up a treat every morning and my only problem now is that my boyfriend is going to expect my cooking to be of the same quality! The location of the Rockford Inn is breathtakingly beautiful. We walked along the River Lyn and never tired of it's beauty. What a fabulous location and I for one shall miss lying in bed listening to the river every night." Tripadvisor

"I can’t speak too highly of the Rockford Inn. The standard of the food was just superb, and the choice of real ale in the bar very extensive. Very convivial surroundings, and the location is second to none. For this type of hotel/inn the accommodation was of very good standard indeed. The proprietors deserve the utmost praise for the service they provide to guests. My wife and I hope very much that we can stay here again."

"Rockford Inn was a wonderful place to return to after a long walk in Exmoor. Its idyllic situation by the river and its lonely outlook was perfect. The Inn had a lovely ambience and the food was wholesome and hearty. A place to get away from life, renew and relax."

"Lovely hotel in breathtaking setting with superb hostesses
This is really a lovely hotel - the pictures on the website dont do it justice! The room we stayed in was beautifully decorated and very very comfortable. Its peaceful beyond belief - all that can be heard is the sound of water from the stream opposite. The hostesses couldnt have been more helpful and welcoming to us - nothing was too much trouble. The food was exceptionally good and we had a very restful stay.
